Thyroid stimulating hormone is produced by pituitary gland, which is a hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland. The normal range of TSH depends on the persons age and whether they are pregnant. Normal TSH levels is important for the development of the fetal brain and nervous system. Having unusually high or low levels can affect the risk of miscarriage and cause pregnancy related complications such as preeclamsia.
